FP&A Accountant
This is a maternity cover position for 9 to 12 months with hybrid 2 days in office.

Role Summary:
The FP&A Accountant will play a lead role in ensuring the quality and timeliness of both internal and external financial reporting whilst ensuring a robust internal control framework is in operation. Building key stakeholder relationships is important as we expand and build out these regions, as is building a strong Management Accounting and FP&A function.
All of these deliveries to made against a backdrop of ensuring compliance with all internal SOP’s and external legislation, regulation and best-practice against which we are measured.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Management accounting through to monthly reporting process including delivery of reporting packs for Executive teams’ Business Review purposes.
- Balance Sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis. Analyse Headcount spend and manage fixed assets and capitalised labour, lease holdings and R&D claims with the business.
- Business partnering across various teams in the Group, delivering credible and insightful financial information and actively participating in business decision-making.
- Assist Group Financial Controller in working capital planning, budgeting, corporate strategy and board packs.
- Manage reporting, compliance and business processes around Share-Based Payments and Share register.
- Support preparation of annual statutory accounts and interim financial statements, ESG and other statutory returns and help drive successful audit processes.
- Take personal leadership on behalf of Finance within various projects within Finance and working across the business.
- Develop, continuously improve and enforce appropriate financial processes and controls across the Group.
- Ensure that Group finance policies are followed and refreshed on a continuous basis in order to comply with a fast changing operating environment.
- Deliver business process excellence, business insight and drive engagement across the business, developing improved reporting.
- Provide accounting oversight and leadership around Share-Based Payments and other key areas of business accounting.

- Initiative and Independence: Be credible and knowledgeable on Finance and Accounting topics, providing accurate, dependable and valuable information and insights. Be reliable, dependable, trustworthy and positive.
Knowledge and Specialist Skills:
- Education – Recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or qualified by experience
- Experience – At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role ideally in industry or business including demonstrable Management Accounting and / or FP&A expertise.
- Excellent Numerical and Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail, a solid foundation of basic accountancy skills is also required for this role including an understanding of the generally accepted accounting principles. An understanding of business is also important along with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels to advise and liaise with senior members of staff.
- Current technical reporting knowledge: Up-to-date UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge. Tax legislation to include direct and indirect taxes. International accounting including translation and consolidation of foreign subsidiaries. Other technical knowledge as fitting a qualified accountant with minimum 3 years PQE
- Computer and software Knowledge and Skills – Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, skilled user Excel and Powerpoint. Experience of Sage Intacct desirable.
