Position Summary:
The Precision Medicine Expert (PME) role will primarily proactively engage with stakeholders within the US Laboratory network, on behalf of Diaceutics and our Pharma partners. PMEs will primarily engage with Laboratory stakeholders including but not limited to Pathologists, Laboratory Managers, Department Leads and other decision-making stakeholders, virtually as well as face-to-face where required, through defined virtual tools, following defined engagement methodologies.
PMEs will leverage key relationships within Diaceutics Network, along with the PME’s personal network, combined with pharma supported targeted account lists, to develop new or continue existing relationships to drive awareness and education of our Pharma partners’ goals. The goals will be aligned with laboratories, including disease state awareness, a companion diagnostic, or any other laboratory test or diagnosis providing therapeutic eligibility for our Pharma partner. The team will be viewed as the “go-to expert” within the US for diagnostic information aligned to our Pharma partners and be responsible for proactive engagement with assigned target institutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- With a primary focus on engaging with professionals associated to diagnostic testing laboratories, provide a valuable service in educating pathologists and other key laboratory staff in the implementation of new and developing diagnostic testing to support patient-specific therapy options in the US.
- Maintain a database of stakeholders and form meaningful relationships within target accounts, to drive scientific exchange within the Oncology community.
- Undertake interview-style discussions with lab stakeholders and Key Opinion leaders (KOLs) and accurately record feedback, answers and insights for the use of driving Diaceutics’ and Pharma understanding of the testing landscape.
- Be key in the development of core relationships as well as the collaboration with Diaceutics, laboratories and Pharma partners to identify impactful solutions and continuous improvement to drive diagnostic testing adoption, and access to sufficient educational material to alter the diagnostic landscape.
- Support the exchange of ideas, identification of barriers to adoption and represent laboratory staff on behalf of our Pharma partners, to appropriately support both our customer and partner needs,
- Be responsible for effectively communicating with targeted stakeholders using effective listening, proper terminology, and approved messaging, drawing on your experienced scientific knowledge, understanding of the diagnostic testing landscape and approved educational materials to support program objectives.
- Maintenance of thorough knowledge of the Client product(s) and program are essential, as is an ability to convey key scientific messaging and understanding to all target stakeholders as well as to our Pharma partners.
- Regularly and timely communicate with the Diaceutics Leadership, members of the client matrix team, and members of various home office support teams, as required.
- Preparation of regular performance reports and progress metrics for management will be required, as well as maintenance and management of client CRM systems to effectively track program progress.
- Hold the responsibility of fully complying with all laws, regulations and Diaceutics’ policies, Code of Conduct, all privacy and data guidelines, relevant state and federal laws and regulations and terms and conditions prescribed in the PDMA Guidelines or similar country and/or local applicable regulations.
- Participate in teleconferences and live National, regional and meetings and training sessions and represent client at National and/or local conventions when requested.
- Perform special projects and assignments as directed by the manager.
- Part of the assigned time will require travel to laboratory sites in the US to represent Diaceutics and our Pharma partners on behalf of the assigned program of work.
Key Attributes Required:
- Testing and Diagnostics: A robust understanding of the testing practices and diagnostic pathways for pathology and oncology, as well as knowledge of the laboratory network within the US is essential. The ability to speak the same scientific and commercial language as both our laboratory and Pharma stakeholders a requirement.
- People Skills: capability to work within a team is sought, combined with an ability to engage with individuals outside of Diaceutics and drive growth within a stakeholder network, where individual working will be most common.
- Customer Service / External Impact: the successful candidate should have a strong awareness of customer relationship considerations, as they personally represent Diaceutics and our strategy, while maintaining focus on target-driven productivity. An ability to speak to both laboratory senior staff as well as Pharma leadership in both a scientific and collaborative way will be required.
- Decision-Making: as the strategy continues to develop, setting an example, progressing methodologies, maintaining consistency and simultaneously insisting on high quality standards will call for an authoritative yet strategic approach. Taking ownership and showing initiative while working within a focused team will be required.
- Initiative and Independence: This role will be primarily working as an individual, representing Diaceutics and our Pharma clients, while also contributing to overall team success and goal adherence. The ability to self-schedule, problem solve, outline plans to drive KPI adherence and to be self-sufficient while supported by a leadership team, will be required to drive program success.
Knowledge and Specialist Skills:
- A post-graduate degree preferred but not essential, with experience in a scientific field, or other experience demonstrating a thorough understanding of diagnostic laboratory testing processes
- Clinical acumen in the oncology and or diagnostic space required, with demonstratable experience engaging with laboratory stakeholders.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and a strong desire to work at the forefront of personalized medicine and transform oncology care to benefit patients across
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
- Ability to successfully pass all client and Diaceutics training.
- Work successfully in a highly compliant environment.
- Strong collaboration skills and the willingness to work independently as well as a team member with multiple priorities.
- Successful experience in oncology, biotech, life science or diagnostic space preferred.
- Strong technical background in molecular biology, genomics, immunohistochemistry, or immunology space preferred, with a specific focus on IHC testing practices.
- Existing relationships with oncologists and/or pathologists desired, with an essential understanding of the US laboratory network and its stakeholders.
- Located in the US
- Ability to travel infrequently.
